We are all called upon to be leaders at some point in our lives.  While some people seems to be "born leaders", others may have to work at acquiring the skills to be effective leaders.  Either way -- born or made-- leaders must understand the process of leadership and how to make it work. 

This course provides a definition of leadership, a summary of leadership theories and an explanation of leadership traits and styles.  Leadership competencies are identified and the elements of effective leadership are defined.

This course offers 4 Continuing Education credits in the Leadership Domain.

This course describes basic causes of conflict within the workplace and explores specific styles of handling that conflict.  Examples of conflict management specific to community coalition work are included in the course.

This course offers 3 Continuing Education Units in the Leadership Domain. 

This two-part course provides an introduction to the process of supervision focused on improving the performance of prevention professionals.  Part One of the course focuses on the definition, roles and functions of supervision as well as exploring specific supervision styles.  Part Two of the course explores competency-based supervision including the use of rubrics to measure professional performance.  This section of the course identifies the domains of professional prevention practice as defined by the Florida Certification Board in its Certified Prevention Professional credential.
